Info about the Creative Wellbeing Studios
What is the Creative Wellbeing Studio?
Supportive, playful workshops for adults to explore creativity and wellbeing, cultivating connection and community through weekly sessions from November to December 2025 in Auckland central.
The emphasis is on the creative process rather than producing a finished product, inviting participants to reconnect with their innate creativity as a tool for enhancing wellbeing, and offering creative wellbeing tools that can be integrated into everyday life. Participants will also be given space to share and reflect with one another followed by the sharing of tea and biscuits as a way to transition back into the remainder of their day
Who is it for?
The Creative Wellbeing Studios (CWS) are designed for adults living in Auckland, with no previous art experience necessary. The only pre-requisite is that participants are interested in exploring creativity and wellbeing within a group environment and with an openness to try something new.
When is it?
CWS will run twice a week over a five-week period in November - December 2025, building on the success of two previous series held in April and August this year.
Monday 3 November 1st afternoon workshop begins (Group 1) - 2 - 4pm
Thursday 6 November 1st morning workshop begins (Group 2) - 10.30am - 12.30pm

Thursday 13 November 2nd morning workshop (Group 2) - 10.30am - 12.30pm

Thursday 4 December 5th morning workshop (Group 2) - 10.30am - 12.30pm
How do you secure a space?
Due to high demand, priority for registration is given to those who have not previously attended any workshop or studio facilitated by Virginia.
It is essential that each person goes through the intake process to make sure the group is a right fit. The intake process involves a casual 10–15 minute kōrero (via call or Zoom) with each interested person. This is simply to make sure you feel comfortable with the group, can commit to the 5-week series, and to discuss your needs and support systems.
Once all workshop spaces are filled, additional registrations of interest will be placed on a waiting list. If a space becomes available, you will be contacted to begin the intake conversation.
Who is running the workshops
Each workshop will be facilitated by Virginia Frankovich, a multi-disciplinary artist and registered Creative Arts Therapist, who brings extensive experience in delivering both community-based arts workshops and clinically-informed arts therapy groups across diverse Auckland communities. Yiyao Tian, an emerging creative arts therapist will also be joining the CWS as an Assistant Facilitator.
Where will it take place?
Based in central Auckland. Because spaces are subject to an intake process, the location of workshops will be shared with registered participants once they have confirmed their space in the studios.
